Bio

Bernhard C. Geiger was born in Graz, Austria, in 1984. He received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering (with distinction) and the Dr. techn. degree in electrical and information engineering (with distinction) from Graz University of Technology, Austria, in 2009 and 2014, respectively.

In 2009 he joined the Signal Processing and Speech Communication Laboratory, Graz University of Technology, as a Project Assistant and took a position as a Research and Teaching Associate at the same lab in 2010. From 2014 to 2017 he was a Senior Scientist and Erwin Schr\"odinger Fellow at the Institute for Communications Engineering, Technical University of Munich. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Signal Processing and Speech Communication Laboratory, Graz University of Technology.

Research Interests

My research interests cover information theory for signal processing, information-theoretic model reduction for Markov chains and hidden Markov models, and information-theoretic clustering.

Some preprints of my most recent papers can be found on arXiv.
