Max Zimmermann is a university assistant and PhD student at the SPSC in Graz. He received the Bachelor of Engineering degree in 2017 from the Jade University of Applied Sciences in Oldenburg and the Master of Science degree in 2019 from the Carl-von-Ossietzky-University Oldenburg. Both theses were developed in close collaboration with the Fraunhofer IDMT Oldenburg. Before starting his doctoral studies in Graz in October 2024, he worked as a software engineer for audio applications at the Hörzentrum Oldenburg and DSP Concepts GmbH. At the SPSC, he is part of the acoustics group and teaching associate for room acoustics seminars. His areas of research include music cognition, psychoacoustic modelling, and signal processing. In his free time, he is a competition dancer, plays in a rock band, and tries to discipline his two cockatiels.
