Bio

Stefan Petrik was born in Graz, Austria in 1979. He received his Dipl.-Ing. degree in telematics from Graz University of Technology, Austria in 2004 and his PhD degree from the same institution in 2010. During his studies, he visited Catholic University Leuven, Belgium, participating in its Master of Artificial Intelligence programme in the Speech and Language Technology option. Afterwards, he has been with Harman/Becker Automotive Systems Inc. (formerly Temic Speech Dialogue Systems) in Ulm, Germany, writing his master's thesis entitled "Wizard-of-Oz Experiments on Speech Dialogue Systems". From 2005 to 2010, he has been with the Signal Processing and Speech Comunication Laboratory at Graz University of Technology, pursuing his PhD degree on automatic reconstruction of dictated texts by phonetic similarity measurement in terms of the SPARC and COAST-ALSO projects.
