Short description
We are currently working on real-time voice conversion methods that convert disordered speech such as substitution voices of people with a larynx into healthy sounding speech. In order to use such a device in daily conversations, there is a limit on how much latency is allowed until the delay of the the aid in getting distractive. As the original voice is also heard the open question is both for the speaker and for the listener. For the speaker there is a lot of literature on delayed auditoriy feedback that needs to be reviewed, that to the best of our knowledge no literature exists on the setting where the source speech and the delayed speech are not the same signal.
Your Tasks
- Literature research on delayed auditory feedback and beyond
- Design of a pilot study
- Evaluation and Documentation
Your Profile/Prerequisites
- Motivation and interest in the topic
- Background in Psychoacoustics
- Some programming background, ideally in Python or Julia
