We congratulate Christian Knoll for receiving the Josef Krainer Award for his PhD Thesis. A report of the award-ceremony by the ORF is available here¹ (in German).

Christian’s research focuses on probabilistic graphical models and on utilizing message passing algorithms to perform approximate inference in a distributed manner. You can find his thesis “Understanding the Behavior of Belief Propagation” here².
