The Course Theoretical Acoustics is an introduction into Vibration and Acoustics in mechanics. The course starts with the mechanical principals and ends with the Green functions for vibration in plates and acoustics in fluids. The course deals with Fourier integral transform as a method to transfrom linear partial differential equations with constant coefficients into simple equations. Difficulties of this approach are the analytical back transform and causality of the solution. As an alternative approach used in signal processing the wavelet transform together with applications are presented. An application of the discrete Fourier transform is the acoustic holography.
