Abstract

In the fields of developement, design and application of loudspeakers as well as in sound reinforcement, simulations and their appropriate visualisation of the directivity patterns and the radiation behaviour of sources is essential for several reasons. In this work a Matlab toolbox is developed which enables simulations on the basis of complex superposition of farfield data of each source. Subsequently the results can be visualized with different types of plots.
Therefore, the theoretical foundations are described briefly for a further discussion of the validity limits of the used far field assumptions and the resultant simulations.
To round the work off, three typical applications with a short explanation of the toolboxes’ syntax are explained.

Notice

As in 2011 the Acoustics and Audio Group moved from the Institute of Broadband Communications (IBK) to the Signal Processing and Speech Communications Laboratory (SPSC), the puplishing location of this thesis also was transfered from the IBK to the SPSC-website.
